You might already know that at Blossom, we are all crazy dog ladies, especially after this post! It just so happens, dogs are as crazy about us too. At almost every photo-shoot, somehow a dog sneaks in! Remember this too? We aren't complaining one bit about them crashing our party. Be sure to bring your pup to the Blossom Boutique next time you drop by!

HOW TO: Wear Neon
The weekend is over, but that doesn't mean the fun has to stop. Hopefully you have or will make up an excuse to dress up this week! The item of discussion: Our fabulous BB Dakota Neon Coral skirt.
So how do you take such a bold piece like this and make it work for a date night, and with the rest of your wardrobe? We pulled in some classic pieces, you probably (or should probably) have hanging up in your closet already! The key is to centre everything around the skirt, keeping things subtle and neutral and letting the statement piece shine (literally in this neon/glitter-tastic case!). Tuck a plain white fitted t-shirt into your skirt (StyleMint makes exceptional ones!). Throw on a leather motorcycle jacket over top; the juxtaposition of the ultra feminine skirt and the roughness of the outerwear is what makes this outfit, let's just say it: badass. To play up the sequin trimming at the bottom of the skirt, go for an oversized sequin clutch (it's okay to have a little matchy-matchy in small doses). A nude pump will help tone the rest down, creating some balance. It will also make your legs appear extra lean and long! This outfit wants to be taken out on the town! Enjoy your next night out.
XO Stephanie

Blossom Beauty
Looking
your most beautiful on the outside always begins with your skin.
If you have dry, dull skin then no amount of makeup, trendy clothing or cute accessories will hide the fact that you just don't have the soft, dewy skin we all crave for summer.
If you have dry, dull skin then no amount of makeup, trendy clothing or cute accessories will hide the fact that you just don't have the soft, dewy skin we all crave for summer.
Ever
wonder how to get perfect summer skin? Easy. Lalicious all natural bath and
body line. Choose from eight of the yummiest scents like coconut cream {my
favourite!}, peppermint, sugar kiss {so good there's a waiting list when sold
out!}, lily mango, coffee bean, brown sugar and vanilla, passionfruit lime,
island guava and tahitian flower {smells like paradise!}. The body wash cleans
without stripping your skin and the body scrub gently exfoliates away all
impurities leaving clear, soft skin. The paraben free silky smooth body butter
is great for moisturizing and protecting your skin but my ALL TIME favourite is
the body oil. The body oil melts into your skin, all oiliness disappears and
you are left with dewy, baby-like skin from head to toe. You have to try it to
believe it but once you do; you will become completely addicted! {Makes a great
honeymoon gift for a bride too!}
Shauna
{ just in case you don't already know ~ Shauna is blossom's owner and the
creator of this fabulous blog} hand picked this line years ago because of it's
high quality, all natural ingredients and because when it comes to your skin;
no ordinary product will do. i love that!
So go ahead and show off your summer skin and be the blossom beauty we know you are!

SUNNIEST OF SELF-TANNERS
There's nothing wrong with a girl wanting a bit of a tan. As long as we are talking a healthy one, you know the non-orange kind, a little, glows a long way! *wink* Having luminous colour for the summer is a desired look for most women. Self-tanners are a great way to achieve a base before sitting out in the sun, rather than the first exposure being with paler skin (greater chance at burning).
Burning is what essentially causes skin cancer, not getting sun itself. Sun is vital, as it is the most beneficial way of having your Vitamin D in-take. Burning your skin however can lead to serious issues. It is important to use a great sunblock as well for when you do go out in the sun, which we recommend anything under SPF30, as anything above that has been noted to contain too many harsh chemicals. We love us some COOLA (mentioned in our video here).
Blossom Beauty Bit: Dont forget to shower, exfoliate and moisturize before applying any type of self-tanner!
Enjoy the sunshine, safely.
XO Stephanie

{Style Inspiration} for a Weekend Get-Away
Sometimes I feel that I put so much time into styling outfits for everyone else, that I run out of ways to make my own wardrobe work for me.
When I feel like I'm in a fashion-rut, it's so much fun to turn to the Polyvore community to see what fantastic ideas the creative users have. I love looking to the style boards and collections to find inspiration on how to work my own closet.
If you have to yet to join Polyvore, I encourage you to do so. Whether you're a creative type that needs an outlet, or enjoy perusing the work of another, the options are endless. One search leads into another, and it's like a stylists/fashion/beauty haven, all rolled into one!
Lately, travel seems to be on everyone's minds, and it's definitely most evident in the Polyvore world, where you can see that the majority of style compilations seem to be themed as such.
For myself, this couldn't have come at a better time!
As I get ready to pack for my mini weekend get-away, here's a few boards {and their creators} that have inspired me:{Casual & Charming} This look, created by Antonella Fabiano , keeps you light-weight and feminine. This would be an ideal outfit to spend your weekend exploring vineyards, and enjoying a picnic on a warm & sunny afternoon. One day soon, I'm planning a trip to Chianti, Italy to bike ride through the olive groves and vinyards, do you know any other beautiful regions to visit like this? for more on this look... |
{Boating Bliss} Kerstin from Germany compiled this wonderful look, perfect for a weekend spent on the water. for more on this look... |
{Beach Beauty} I think most would agree, the best weekend get-away involves a beach, sand and little effort to looking good. Polyvore user Laurel demonstrates that you could be stylish and beach-ready all at once. This look reminds me of when I was an exchange student living along the French Riviera, everyday after-school we ended up at the beach and would spend hours just lying in the sand ... I miss those carefree days! for more on this look... |
{Ocean Wonder} Depending on where you travel, and the time of year, a trip to the ocean isn't always going to be warm. For a cooler climate, Ivana uses a lightweight button-down, comfy denim and adorable flats to show you how to relax by the beauty of the ocean, without getting chilled by the breeze. My fondest memories as a child were of visiting Newport, Rhode Island several times each year, to stay with relatives that were fortunate to live so close to the Atlantic Ocean. What's your favourite beach/ocean to visit? for more on this look ... |
{Flowy & Feminine} One of my most favourite things to do is explore Farmer's Markets outside of my own city. I love the idea of supporting local area farmers and helping to sustain their family-run businesses. The most comfortable and stylish way to enjoy yourself is in a flowy skirt and simple strappy sandals. This look was created by Hannah Diamond, for more on this look .. My favourite farmer's market I've been to is in Canmore, Alberta, how about you? |
Every weekend get-away requires the perfect carrying case.
It's best to travel light, but never cram your clothes and toiletries into a small case, or the time meant to relax will be spent steaming your clothes. I found this vintage-inspired case on-line at Liberty London and fell in-love with the peacock pattern, and old-world charm.
Another great line is by Lipault Paris. They offer a collection of lightweight durable and foldable luggage, that fold into a 4-inch-deep polyurethane bags for easy storage under a bed or in a closet.
I hope everyone enjoys their weekend, I'm off to pack now for mine!
